Revival Continues At Moravia Church With Added Interest

The United Brethren church in Moravia hosts ongoing revival meetings led by the Van Gundy evangelistic party and Rev Stienkel this week. Each night the church fills nearly to capacity with varied programs and special features. The meetings are expected to close next Sunday night.

At a Mora meeting the Moravia Co-Operative Marketing Association board chose C O Jones as shipping manager after F P Hawk declined to seek the post again. Hawk praised the association’s record, and Geo W Jones was elected to the board and presidency. Hawk offered statistics and thanked patrons for support.

Mrs. Schreiner Died in Ollie After Illness

Word reached the Union office just before press time of the death of Mrs. Dr. Chas. Schreiner of Ollie Iowa, after a long illness. She was the sister in law of P. Schreiner J. I. Schreiner and Mrs. Elizabeth Broshar of Moravia. Funeral services will be held at Sigourney Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

Twenty five years ago on a January weekend Moravia residents woke to window shaking dynamite blast near Hocking seven miles away. A big company store fire touched off a dynamite car explosion. Moravia H S Debaters to Meet Moulton Next Week

Moravia High School announces its first sponsored debating squad in years. The negative team faces Moulton on Wednesday evening February 8 on Moravia’s home floor at 7 20 with music from the Moravia school band. An admission of ten cents for townspeople and five cents for students will help defray expenses.

Mrs Slaughter Hosts Kensington Circle Meeting

Mrs W W Slaughter hosted the Kensington Circle at her home last Thursday afternoon January 26. The day marked the 40th wedding anniversary of president Mrs Frank Chambers, who arrived with a three layer wedding cake twelve by eighteen inches presented by their children. The cake graced the luncheon table and guests enjoyed a two course meal served by the hostess.

The Moravia Union promotes a Beacon City cooperative trip to the Century of Progress in Chicago from June to November 1933. It details a private five-acre, gated, tent-housed community with uniformed guards, on-site services, and direct rail transport, all at one price.
