Christmas joy spread through local families with only a few broken ties from service members away. The season brought many greetings, including a notable card from the Rountrees of Texas, with postal workers reporting a record flow of Christmas seards to the Union office.
Albert L. Sprecht of Sunset View Farm in Sandusky County Ohio reports that 14 476 pounds of milk and 564 pounds of butterfat were produced last year from a registered Brown Swiss herd fed twice daily with Occo Mineral Supplement Occo-Lab ground corn oats and 32 percent dairy ration Legume hay or oil meat noted as cheaper and the farmer expresses satisfaction with the results

On December 20 1955 the District Court of Appanoose County Iowa appointed Ina B Miller administratrix of the estate of Clarence E Miller deceased late of Appanoose County. All persons owing the estate must pay and all claims must be presented to the court for allowance. Town attorneys Charles L Johnston John E Miller Centerville Humboldt listed.
A Moravia High School note describes two freshman boys named Charles Bates and an Argo Charles. Bates, 150 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes, studies Ag English Math Science and participates in Boys Glee Club and F F A. The other Charles, 14, brown eyes and hair, 100 pounds, also studies Ag English Science Math and joins F F A and Boys Glee Club. Both express interest in girls and have listed phone numbers 171-W and 1751.
New Hope by Genevie Donovan covers Wesley Chapel youth Christmas program with three age groups and hosts for carol highlights at several local homes including Donovan Peterson and Boblenz households. Numerous relatives from Centerville Polo and Des Moines join holiday gatherings and dinners across towns.
Sunday and Christmas events show neighbors visiting and sharing meals. Families including Harsh Hudgens Hiatt Long Milleman Witt Meadows Donovan and VanZante hosted dinners and gift exchanges across Zell, Primghar Centerville Ottumwa and nearby areas.

Numerous gatherings followed across Ottumwa area households with extended relatives and friends joining in dinners, weekend visits, and a Shanghai club meeting.
A round of holiday gatherings and family visits is recorded. Des Moines hosts include Mr. and Mrs. Donald Nash spending Monday at the James Nash home. George and Bert Rinehart and families attended dinners, while Beverly Nash stayed with Sandra Whitehead Tuesday night. Elaine attended a club at Helen Mc Aninch’s and Mary Lou joined the James Nash circle.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Argo spent Sunday at Addie Sheldon’s. Vinton Lundy visited Roscoe Argo. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Lackender were evening visitors. John Exline and family stayed with Lawrence Exline near Extline. Roscoe Argo attended a dinner at Russell Brown’s. Mrs. John Hiner and Davenport relatives visited Rex Haver. Ed ward Haver’s family also joined. Afternoon callers included Hugh McFatridge and Stella Argo.
