Hiattsville news returns after illness pause with Christmas events and visits. Miss Goldie Hiatt at St Josephs in Centerville spent holidays with family. Elvene Phillips of Lincoln enjoys vacation with grandparents. New Hope school hosted a Christmas tree and program. Santa distributed treats. A W Martin and Tucker families shared Christmas at E F Tucker home. Hiatt and related families attended a funeral in Lucas County. Albert and Mrs Kluver visiting Lake View. Mrs Coulson ill but cared for by nurse Bethel Coulson. Christmas at Carlson and Hellyer homes. W H Powell sale Friday with Wesley Ladies Aid lunch. Denny School held tree program. Evelyn Hiatt teaches. Opal Callen visiting Centerville.
Lloyd McDanel helped Shirley Townsend upstairs for a wood sawing session. Guests surprised Mrs Townsend on her birthday Tuesday evening: Paul Boyer Lyndon Ryman Willie McDanel and families. Refreshments included oyaters crackers popcorn popcorn balls and taffy. Mrs Townsend received gifts. All left wishing many more happy returns. Visitors at Ora Sufficeol home Monday evening were Mr and Mrs Alva Walden Charley Walden Mr and Mrs Ryman M Danel Willie
OMEGA Miss Teel Paxston spent the weekend at the Elmer Henderson home. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Harris of Centerville, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. McCumber, and Luelle and Kenneth Coltrain spent Christmas at the H. S. McCumber home. Miss Luetta Ballengar called on Mrs. George McCumber Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Gomer Stocker and Clifford were business callers in Ottumwa Wednesday.
The Guy Roberts family spent Christmas at the Fred Tillmont home in Moravia. Mr and Mrs Lowell Harris visited the parental G E McCumber home early in the week. Milo and Verlin Selby called at the George McCumber home Friday night. Several in the community are flu sufferers and bad roads limited Christmas visits.
West Point group gathers for a noon dinner and quilting day at the Lloyd Brown residence.
