Faith United Methodist Church of Centerville hosts a Living Creche on the church lawn Friday December 2 from 4 to 7 pm. Parish members portray Mary Joseph angels three Wise Men and shepherds with five animals. About 70 cast members perform every thirty minutes with Christmas readings and music by local youth groups and families under Roberta Esline and Joan Irvin. Public viewing continues Friday December 23 from 4 to 7 pm. The meaning of Christmas is presented by the Living Creche at United Methodist Church in Centerville.

A Small Business Administration release shows 1008 loans in 97 Iowa counties from Oct 1976 to Sept 1977 totaling 101,225,503 dollars. Eight southern counties received 8.25 percent of counties but only 2.6 percent of dollars and 2.9 percent of loans. Four high-value counties, 4.1 percent of counties, captured 21.5 percent of loans and 23 percent of money, highlighting regional economic gaps.
