The Iowa Department of Social Services promotes the Iowa Rural Rehabilitation student loan program for rural high school seniors and graduates. Income limits have loosened and more rural students may qualify. Eligibility requires rural residence, farm income, household AGI under 25,000, US citizenship, and attendance at an Iowa college within 50 miles of the border. Maximum undergrad loan is 2,000 yearly, federally insured, with a one time 0.5 percent premium. Total undergraduate borrowing up to 17,500. graduate extension up to 15,000.

Taylor Aid met December 3 for a large meeting with 16 members, a $3 donation to a mental health campaign, secret pal gifts, and a bread grab bag exchange. A Sunday gathering at Paul Broshar’s, with Bridge games, Christmas present exchange, and door prizes, closed the sequence of events.

Holiday drunk driving enforcement in Towa
The Towa Department of Public Safety launches a heightened holiday enforcement program targeting drunk drivers and liquor importers.
