Contemplations on a Christmas Card From the Soviet Embassy
A fragment from a Pierre article notes Christmas goodwill felt by Christendom contrasts with the Soviet leadership in Moscow. It claims the rulers distrust Christmas yet value public relations, suggesting a political message behind holiday messaging.
Christmas and Communist greeting contrast in pursuit of peace
The author notes a Soviet Embassy holiday greeting and contrasts it with Christian and Jewish remembrances of family during the season. Citing Marguerite Stitt Church, they reflect on dialogue with a U.N. Communist leader who dismissed human values. The piece advocates mutual understanding and hopes for peace and good will.
