Local residents share Sunday visits and callers at multiple homes around Albia Centerville and Grand River. A car theft reported in Centerville and holiday radio ads from Gamble Stores urge buying Coronado radios for Christmas. The Christmas club deposits have released funds this year.
The Iconium area reports illnesses, hospitalizations, and a funeral. Mrs. Leo Beaty is recovering after surgery in Centerville General Hospital while Hiner and Beaty families care for children. The community mourns the death of Sheldon with a Friday M E Church service and Iconium cemetery burial. Local clubs, gatherings, and farm bureau events are noted along with Santa Claus visits and a postponed Father and Son Banquet.
Clarence Boos of Eighth street and Phillips avenue Sioux Falls credits Konjola with ending his year long backache and constipation. He took two doses and felt improved energy and vitality. The medicine claims to be alcohol free and suitable for six to eight weeks. Konsala is sold in Moravia Iowa at Smith Drug Store and by major druggists in the region.
The Christian Church hosts the second Community Father and Son Banquet Friday at 7 p m with Rev L H Lanning of Centerville speaking Miss Juanita Russell will whistle with Mrs L H Lanning on the piano Other musical features and several father son contests are planned including prizes for the father with the most sons oldest father youngest son and the farthest traveled pair plus twins and a daughter and son The event invites the entire community A previous Forward Movement Banquet at the church drew about 48 attendees with talks by Rev H E Trimble and Rev W R K Matasler.
The Board of Supervisors of Appanoose County Iowa met in regular session. Members present were J. L. McFall, D. P. Fenton, and J. F. Chambers. Claims were approved for the General Fund including refunds, services, mileage, supplies, and jail expenses. Road construction in Franklin Township lists payroll and equipment costs.
The Apanoose County Board of Supervisors met by adjournment with J L McFall presiding. Claims approved include pauper and justice fund disbursements such as groceries rent and coal, plus transport and stenography costs. Tax exemptions for several residents were listed and the board adjourned to December 8, 1930.
