Miss Brain Seriously Injured In Auto Wreck
Local relatives report Annie R Brain was seriously injured Monday after losing control on a frost covered bridge on highway 64 65 near Bondurant. Her car plunged 15 feet down a creek embankment, rolled 150 feet, and she was thrown from the vehicle. She was hospitalized at Iowa Lutheran in Des Moines with severe shock internal injuries a fractured right shoulder and fractured ribs.

Local merchants plan a Saturday draw with 18 free turkeys to be distributed to residents. Six turkeys will be given away each Saturday for the next three weeks, with Santa Claus expected to join on Saturday December 20 to greet children and provide candy.

Obituary for Roe Ahee Ahee Moravia farmer dies at 67
Roe Ahee, son of Henry and Belle Ahee, born December 8, 1890 near Ash Grove Iowa, died November 22 1958 at his Moravia home at age 67 11 14. He farmed near Unionville for 63 years retiring in March then moved to Moravia. He married Grace Hudgens November 24 1915 and had 3 children Dorothy Polson James and Donald. He joined Union Chapel Christian Church in 1923 and later attended Christ ian church in Moravia. He belonged to the Blakesburg IOOF lodge. Surviving are his wife, three children, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. Funeral was Tuesday November 25 at Turner Funeral home with Donald Plum of Albia presiding. Burial at Asdenville. Card of Thanks expresses gratitude for flowers, food, cards, letters and memorial service volunteers.
