Past Matrons met Tuesday evening for their annual Christmas supper at Mrs. Carl Black home with Mrs. Leonard Palmer and Mrs. D E Bishop assisting. After the 6:30 meal a business session elected Mrs. John Main secretary and Mrs. Paul Dicks president. Plans for a school of instruction were discussed and committees appointed.

Mary E Songer Burns born February 24 1879 in Bloomfield Iowa died November 25 1959 in Centerville Iowa at age 10 years 9 months 1 day. Widow since 1940 she lived in Unionville Moravia area and was a Grace Methodist member and Moravia Legion Auxiliary. Survived by three daughters two sisters four sons thirty two grandchildren seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. O T Fogiesong 68 of Centerville died at St Joseph hospital Saturday Nov 28 after a long illness. He retired from Lowegian in 1955 due to ill health. Winifred Heckman was taken to the Veterans' hospital at Des Moines on Tuesday with acute leukemia. His illness is described as very serious. He worked with the late Forrest Easter in auto and tractor work and was recently employed as a mechanic at White Implement, an Allis-Chalmers dealer.

Schaffner Infant Dies in Ottumwa

Louis V. Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis V. Schaffner of Ottumwa died at the Ottumwa hospital three hours after birth. Survived by sisters Cheryl Lynn and Linda Ruth, grandparents Louis Schaffner of Seymour and Mae McCrory of Ottumwa. Graveside services held Friday at Shaul cemetery.
