Death of Harve McCoy shocks community in 1926 obituary
Friends mourn the death of James Harvey McCoy who died at his home Monday morning at 2 o clock after a brief illness. He was born June 1 1876 at Moravia Iowa and died November 29 1926 at age 50 6 months and 28 days. He married Mary Davis and left a daughter Sarah Elizabeth. Funeral held Tuesday at one o’clock with Rev C C Robson officiating. Interment in Crist Cemetery with out of town relatives attending. He leaves his mother three uncles an aunt and several cousins plus many friends.

Mr Renner, a UW and postgraduate, is SAE and Phi Beta Kappa. They will reside in Chicago after June 1 as he works with Contan Miller and Renner Realty Co. Congratulations poured in.

Moravia High School starts the basketball season Friday night with a boys team from Cincinnati and a girls team from Moulton visiting for a double header. The boys, having practiced little, aim to field a first team and show well. the girls, well practiced, are expected to win two games to start the season.

Moravia High School capped its football season with a 6 to 0 Thanksgiving Day win at Moulton. Defensive stands and a late defensive breakdown by Moulton opened the door for a winning touchdown by Ceri Callers. Coach Boller’s squad, rebuilding from a sparse start, showed grit and steady progress through the season.

The annual Odd Fellow Father and Son banquet was held at the I O C F Hall last Friday evening. More than one hundred attended the feast prepared and served by the Rebekah sisters. OM Station Changes Hands
A deal was made Saturday wherein C. Jones became operator of the Hawkeye Gil Station on the northeast corner of the Square, formerly under F. H. Buckmaster. No doubt Mr. Jones will enjoy a large volume of business as has Buckmaster. Buckmaster’s plan is unknown, but his interests in the cattle business demand so much of his time that he gave up management of the city station.

On Sunday November 28 twenty-one friends and relatives visited Mr. and Mrs. Bur dette Utterback at their home while they were at church. Mrs. Charles Clark Funeral Rites Held in Albia
Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Clark were held at the Methodist Church in Albia with Rev. W. H. Perdow officiating. Burial followed at Oak View cemetery. She died November 26 at age 61 at her daughter Emmett Gardner’s home, after long residence in Monroe County and several townships. Survived by seven children and many friends in Moravia.
