Des Moines plans a four night exhibition series from August 3 to September 1 at the new Education Building. The display features about sixty two galyeeadib style works and pieces from renowned Midwest equestrian stables, with proceeds aiding education initiatives.
Unionville residents and visitors fill pages with calls on relatives, transfers from Ottumwa to Des Moines and Des Moines area trips. Attendees include Mra Kathryn Whitehill, Mrs Susan Baldridge, and many others visiting or hosting family, with note of a baby Mary Lois undergoing treatment and upcoming limb surgery brace. Local clubs meet and members travel to Des Moines and Osage to events, fairs, and visits.
Maple Grove families led by J B Callen and H E Glick gathered for a Centerville Park sun reunion. Emil Broshor and sons visited A E Broshir’s family. Little Sean Broshur spent time with grandmother Pabot. Walter Lemaster called on J R Cullen, and H E Glick served as a Centerville cattleman. Residents in Anne area observed Lindbergh’s plane passing overhead last Friday. The deputy grader was in grading the area.
Monday morning farm work reshapes fields after threshing and corn work. H. Robinson underwent appendicitis surgery at St Joseph hospital Ottumwa last week. S. L. Mason and wife of Kirksville Missouri visited Ottumwa near their sick father. Mrs Fisher remains ill. Family and friends gathered for Grandma Stocker’s funeral with interment at Sales Cemetery.
Mr and Mrs Forrest Glck opened Saturday at the Charley Foster home. Various locals visited, hosted and socialized with neighbors including Miss Oneita Foster, Mrs Loren Buckingham, Mr and Mrs Casa Hamilton and daughter Helen. Activities mention birthday celebrations, threshing, and Sunday calls by a wide circle of friends and relatives.
Mrs Edna Dyphon and daughter spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs Zell Wilson. Visitors at the Grant Sintox home were Mr and Mrs Dar in Wailes, Mr and Mrs Herman Johnson and children, Fiona Wailes, Bayard Neff and Frank Sincox. Mr and Mrs George Darby returned home after visiting Othe Darby at Madrid Iowa. Marie Sytsma visits Robert Jennings home. Willie Van Dorin and family shopped in Albia. E C Custer shopped in Mor.
Robert Luse and family visited at the G E Luse home on Sunday. Vivien Wilson helped with housework for Mrs Bill Wilson last week. H A Stufflebean and children visited relatives in Ottumwa. Schuler and family planned a visit to Mr Johnson’s house. Vivien Wilson stayed with B C Wilson’s family Saturday night. Jack Luse and wife visited their son G E B Luse. B O L Wilson and family visited the Dutch DuVall home. T J Luse aided Earl Bruin threshing on Monday.
Burke Wilson shared Sunday dinner with T. J. Luse while John Stocker of Valley Junction spent the weekend at E. F. Wilson’s home. Cheree Dyphon hosted Madge Maxine and Otha Lee DuVall and Gerald Luse for dinner in honor of her ninth birthday. C. G. Davis and family visited the Cari Davis home near Moulton on Monday.
