Raya Ramblin reports Moravia Fall Festival shows strong potential with expectations of improvement. Carnival canceled by the original contractor will be replaced by a better act. John Spencer is traveling west on a vacation trip and stopped in.
Western Iowa plans a carnival with a promising country music lineup. Max McDonough on the entertainment committee has booked a first class country group for Friday and Saturday nights. Community leaders stress the value of a strong school system and active town growth while encouraging qualified nominations for town and school boards. Little League and Babe Ruth summer play wraps up as MHS alumni try batting, enjoying the activity despite some rust.
A long list of visitors and callings at Minnie Moffatt’s home highlights a busy social week. Mt. Vernon, Ottumwa, Des Moines and Marion guests include Mo Tavia, Newton, and Moravia area families, plus travels to Indiana and Des Moines for gatherings.

Mrs Guy Argo visited her father in Iowa City Friday. Mary Meadows visited the Millers Sunday evening. The Clair McDanes family of Camanche vacationing at Ernest Hiatt’s. Argo boys attended a ball game in St Louis. Jay Kirstein stayed with grandparents the Boblenzes. Theo Miller's calls at Hutton Yeager home. Mildred Way and daughters plus Joan Abel and Debbie Abel from Phoenix visiting Iowa. Johnnie German visiting two weeks. Dennis Smith visited his aunt Ernie Tucker Wednesday. Bethel McDonald and Ernie Tucker guests of Charlie Johnson Thursday. Herb Roblenz and Virginia Coulter of Cedar Rapids visited while Jerry graduated basic in Ft Campbell Ky. Larry Pfannebecker joined others to St Louis for ball games. Tracy Todd Mike with Jack Brazils in Centerville. Mrs Ernie Tucker Sunday with Clyde Eddy and family.

Hazel Hellyer and Monnie Rose spent Friday evening at B C Whitehead home. Terry Rose returned to Des Moines Saturday after summer with Deli Hellyer.
