Residents share visits and family time across ICONIUM and nearby towns. Attendees to a 4 H show at Myatic, reunions south of Moravis, and a large Main reunion gather grove scenes. Birth of a son to Glen Dorby of Atbia, serious illness of J D Dick, and multiple family visits noted.
Miss Glee Callen accompanied by her aunt to Des Moines for a week long visit. Several families including the Carlsons, Doggetts, Callens, Mericles, Luses, and Giddons shared Sunday calls and greetings. The Wilson, Lockman, and Callen reunions were noted along with a fifteenth birthday party for Manilla and various neighborhood visits around town.
Mrs L Ward and Burdette called at the Gomer Stocker home Saturday morning. Mrs Mayd Paxston and daughter Helen spent Thursday with Mrs Elmer Henderson. Mrs Ray Lockman helped at Milton Stocker Saturday. Granddaughter Norma Jean Gilbert of Woodsward Iowa visited at the Gomer Stocker home. Otis Ballengar spent Sunday at Elmer Henderson home. John Earl and Nelson returned home after visiting Hendersons. L Ward and Burlette visited Cedar Rapids Jewell Ward home Sunday. Jim McCumber Fay and Leo Paxston spent Sunday with Cheater and Leland Selby. Gomer Stocker family and Milas Barbara McCumber sightseeing at Lake Wapello Sunday.
Earl Huff and family, Thura and Rex Darrah, and Cecil Hart families spent Saturday at the O G Hawkins home. Versal Hough family, Charles Foster family, Glenn Brown family and Homer Brown home visits. Stella Brown Rex Darrah Cecil Hartsook group dined at Orrin Callen Saturday evening. Brown families visited Harry Robinson and Delong households. Arthur Brown returned from the World Fair.
Community glimpses show visits among Neff Bokras Thompson Robinson and families. Residents travel to LeRoy Valley Junction Leon Albia and Des Moines for gatherings funerals and Farm Bureau events. The Helping Hand Club meets August 24 and Boardman Lillard households host and entertain others.
A Franklin Pioneer Day report lists visits to the Scott Repp and Moffatt homes. Ottumwa residents Art Ekwalt Leona Runnells and others stayed with Coy Swift. Des Moines visitors Mia McGowan Bill Adams Marian joined family gatherings at the Moffatt and Dicks homes amid a Mystic 4 H show trip and local visits by Shehan Dicks Morgan and McLoughlin families.

Mrs Fd Peterson of Flint Mich returns home after two weeks with relatives. Caster boy spends Thursday noon with LeRoy Wilson. Frank Fulton in Albia Saturday. Margaret Harrison and two daughters visit Grandpa Darby Monday evening. Dorothea Darby leaves with Moravia group for World’s Fair in Chicago. plans a week stay. H M Smith road crew active near old Lewis Young farm. expected in neighborhood next. G R Darby and family attend Horse Sense in Albia Friday. Mrs H M Smith and daughter visit Darbys Friday.
Mrs Bewlah Gibba and baby visited near Centerville with Tom Hiatt family. Ed and Harry Rumley plus their children were in Centerville on business. Dorothy McMann from Center ville visited sister Mrs Danar Sanders. Rumley family and others called at Hiatt and Sanders homes. Local residents dropped by Mary Fowler and Emma Way homes for ice cream and chats.
ENON Helping Hand club gathered with Mrs Flora Jones on Thursday with eighteen ladies and nine children present. Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served. school repairs and cleaning proceed for September 4 start.
A weather note records scattered showers Wednesday morning in Scatterburg. Social visits mark a week, with Steve Gillands guests, Quiller Adams and Guy at the Gilland home, and multiple calls at the Raymond Lockman and Foster homes. Foster's birthday is noted.

Tomlin home Saturday morning. George Scott attended the Long reunion in Centerville Sunday.
Unionville notes recount a busy season with aid societies hosting a melon feed on August 17 at the Senger home and a joint luncheon at Mrs P A Bair’s country home drawing 76 attendees. The Girl Scouts staged a play at the high school auditorium to fund uniforms, while residents journeyed from Albia Des Moines and Katy Texas for visits and baptisms. Local pastors and families shared meals, church duties and community travel amid NRA town notices and neighborly gatherings.
Grandmother Harris and Bloyd Horniday with family travel from Camp Point Illinois to Chicago for A Century of Progress. Weekend visitors at various homes include Swaims of Pierson and Criddlebaugh Woodward families, plus Caster and Behrens relatives. World’s Fair trips noted.

Glen Van Dorin spent Sunday with Silven Van Dorin.
