Maple Grove and nearby residents hosted and visited through the week with multiple family gatherings and dinners. Neighbors including Tadlock McDanel Beaty and Rhee families, Wilsons, Hayes, Tadlocks, and Johnsons joined at homes and parks for birthdays, reunions, and Sunday meals in Moravia and Des Moines areas. Local trips included Ottumwa hospital visits and Waterloo visits, plus papering assistance at a neighbor’s home.
West Point and Ottumwa visitors gather at multiple homes including the Leo Hoffman and Roscoe Argo households. Threshers' cooks are aided by Lucille Exline Stella Argo Berniece Rinehart Allie Argo Verta Hoffman and others. The group attends weddings fairs and funeral services while neighbors share meals and harvest tasks.
Rain sprinkled the area cooling the air as Monroe County Fair crowds visited Tuesday and Wednesday. Numerous local families and 4 H members attended. many social visits occurred among VanDorin and Faber families with dinners, trips, and cabinet work noted through Friday to Monday.
Mrs Theo Miller and family hosted and visited relatives Friday to Sunday in Mason City area. Numerous calls and visits included Mrs Allie Boyer at Russell Burns home and contact with Olin Foster and Van Lemaster families. local gatherings featured extended kinship ties and a hospital visit for Norris O Connor and baby Marian Dale.
Misséa Bertha and Mabel Coulson visited Monday afternoon at the Catten home. Ernest Hiatt and Sandra joined Friday evening with Mr and Mrs Hiatt. Mrs Heth Boblenz and children visited Ottumwa Thursday. Jerry stayed till Saturday then rode home by bus. Francesa Burton Anna Hiatt and Mary Meadows called at Callen family Wednesday. Union office notes Burns reunion at Moravia.
