Mrs. Gladys Harsh reports Dick Wilson was able to go home from the hospital. Several guests visited the Wilsons and Harshs for meals and events, including Janet Harrington and Janet Ballanger. Family and friends from Hedrick and Eau Claire shared weekend visits and supper gatherings at the Wilson and Harsh homes.
Mrs. Vaughn Faber leads Urbana Center gathering as FMC H F A banquet honors include Russell Darby Barbara Proctor and many Proctors. Martha Sinclair and David Ahee waited tables while Madelyn Sinclair won first in freshman girls earning a F H A pin. Local visits included Marion Proctor, Duane Proctor Ottumwa and Bates Albia as Amey and Stocker families socialize.
The Moravia area reported a busy weekend with an inter denominational youth rally at Moravia High School attended by Mildred Proctor Regina Sinclair Madelyn and Diana Faber and others. 4-H contests at the De Wayne Sinclair home featured winners Martha Sinclair Barbara Darby and Ante Long with runners up Diana Faber Cathy Faber and Lorraine McAnally.
Mrs. DeWayne Sinclair along with Martha and Madelyn and Cathy Faber attended a Monday 4 21 meeting at Everett Long. Milan Sinclair spent the night Monday with Terry Prough.
Deep sympathy extended to Rollie Carter family of Moult on in Hiattsville. Funeral at Centerville Thursday afternoon attended by Mr. and Mrs. Lute Hiatt and Mrs. Bert Meadows. Several locals traveled to Davettport midweek for various visits and events. Eugene Daniels joined a group to Waterloo for the IFA convention Friday and Saturday.
Mr and Mrs Ed Haver and Julie visited the George Rinehart home Tuesday evening. Dinner guests were Mr and Mrs Leo Hoffman at the Roscoe Argo home. Basil Harteen and Roscoe Argo were Seymour callers Tuesday afternoon.
Coulson families and Mrs Theo Miller hosted supper guests Sunday evening in Ottumwa. Mr and Mrs Herb Boblenz toured his mother and called on sister Mrs Gene Shober and family. Mrs Guy Argo and Nellie traveled to Waterloo Friday to attend the F event.
Mr and Mrs Ronald Kirkland and family spent Saturday evening at the Nelson Ballanger home Linda Wilson stayed Wednesday night with Janice Ballanger and Jackie with Alan Wilson The M Y F group from Wesley met at Mrs Herb Roblenzs home to make decorations for the Easter Breakfast Mr and Mrs Curtis Mikels and children were Sunday evening callers at the Perry Mikels home Mrs Nelson Ballanger and Jer old accompanied Mrs Raymond Hughes to Ottumwa Thursday Others attending included Marie Dudley and Jan Russell Jerry Boblenz returned from Waterloo Saturday where he had been with the F F A boys Mrs Iva Rysss of Brighton and Mr and Mrs Lowe Egbert of Richland were Sunday evening supper guests at the Anderson home Mr and Mrs Robert Hiatt and Brenda were Sunday evening visitors with Mr and Mrs Ernest Hiatt Mr and Mrs Nelson Ballanger and family were Sunday afternoon visitors at the Vie Zintz home Mr and Mrs Theo Miller were Sunday evening visitors with Mr and Mrs Chris Bogart Misses Elsie and Lillian Callen Mintia Shoemaker and Mr and Mrs Theo Miller attended services for Mrs Cynthia Callen Sunday Mr and Mrs Ernest Hiatt were Centerville visitors Monday after.
Eleven boys joined The Blackhawks 4 H Club at the Vaughn Faber home on April 10 1962 with Dale Ashling presiding. Officers elected were President David Talbert Vice President Douglas Faber Secretary Treasurer Milan Sinclair Reporter Bob Gillen Historian David McAnally Recreation Chairs Mike Grinstead and Mike Leffler. Clarence Talbert chosen leader Chester Gillen assistant reader Dale Yehing distributed new record books. Meeting adjourned with cupcakes and kool aid.
Franklin Farmers held an April 16 meeting at Orville McCord’s home led by president Dean Ammons. Orville McCord demonstrated tree planning. 14 members and 4 visitors attended. Richard Perry moved $5 to SFLY.E, seconded by Richard Calhoun. A hay ride was proposed for April 26. Doris Hawk and Jerry Hawk spoke on parts of sheep and beef respectively. The pledge to the American and 4-H flags was recited. refreshments served by Orville McCord and his mother. Reporter Leon Calhoun.

They trans acted the following business and allowed claims including General Fund items for Ayres Blackmar Co American Standard Wholesale Corp Centerville Laundry Treasurers Office and Centerville National Bank among others with amounts varied and listed.
