The notice lists weekly publication as the official county paper published every Thursday. It shows subscription rates for Appanoose and Monroe Counties at one year four dollars in advance, and four dollars and fifty cents elsewhere in the United States, also in advance.
Rays Ramblins, delayed by Richard Sneed in Moravia, stopped at the Moravia Union office last week. He sent a note saying he was enroute between Denver and St. Louis and greeted Moravia, recalling past articles on the town 50 and 60 years ago.
Report from Moravia notes talk of joining the class of 1927 for a Golden Anniversary in 1978. Richard Sneed and Mrs. J. B. Sneed send greetings. Mr and Mrs Lester Powell returned from Washington state to live here, visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs Vernon Burger and family. Laurel Bryant has torn down their home to build a new one. Sympathy to the family of Lester Pete Smith. Mrs Noel Childers visited Mr and Mrs Cliff Burger Tuesday evening. Harold Ellison helping with spring work. Billy Underwood remodeling Mrs Agnes More home and Sastee visiting her parents Willard Brain Monday night.
Mrs Theda Parsons of Goodland Kas visits sister Mrs Ted Hedgecock. Alice Simms called on Ruby Hedgecock Monday afternoon. Franks Harrison of Knoxville and Keith Cridlebaugh dine with Raymond Cridlebaugh. Gary Cridlebaugh of Centerville also visits. Claude Lowe of Centerville and Howard Burkland visit Hallie Doggett in Iowa City hospital. Donald McCarty, Ottumwa, visits Burklands Saturday. Mae Heacock obituary noted, formerly Mae Porter.
