Hiattsville notes report W O Hiatt visiting for his mother Mrs Gyntha Hiatt and multiple locals, including Anna Hiatt hosting Ladies Aid, updates on illness flu recovery for Mrs Cyntha Hiatt, Ruth Scott Esther Hiatt and others visiting Centerville and Rockford connections in the area.
Last week Mrs J S Coffin visited her daughter and granddaughter, then returned to Des Moines. On Tuesday a fire destroyed a chicken house with about 140 to 150 chickens, a month old, amid strong winds. Neighbors regret the loss and blame sparks from the roof.
Aos Iconium and Center ville residents shared family visits this Sunday. Mr and Mrs Bert Rinehart and son joined relatives at the George Hiner home while Mr and Mrs Lloyd Beaty and daughter visited A J Brown's home. Mr and Mrs Fred Taylor and Mr and Mrs Earl Swift welcomed new baby girls. A large crowd attended Easter services at the M E Church despite bad weather. Burton Tarr stayed with his parents Fred and wife H G Brown visited sister Earle Swift helping care for the new daughter. Families later dined with F T Hellyer and prepared to travel. Miss Beryl McDanel will teach the coming year at the Ceanium school with Miss Jeraldine Calhoun, Lester Breese, and Rollie Foster in other posts.
Coy Vuse and family spent Tuesday evening at the Charley Main home. Kenneth Gladfelder moved to the Crawford farm. Barney Deboe moved into the house vacated by the Gladfeld arb. Sarah Beach visited Mrs. John McDanes Wednesday afternoon. Gua Pfannabecker and family and Everett Beach were Friday evening guests at the Willie McDanes home. Jesse Hiner aided Ted Miller with farm work. Hazel Jones stayed with Virginia Easter Saturday night and Sunday. Vernal Boshak stayed at the A. W. Kincade home in Moravia Saturday night. Berle Purvis family with Gretehen visited Mrs. A. E. Broshar Sunday. eta Luse, Willie McDanel and Glen Sufficool on sick list this week. Lyndon McDanel family, Charles Broshar, Donald McKern visited Willie McDanes Sunday. Glenn Sufficool called Sunday afternoon. Charley Main’s visited Sunday at Coy Luse home. Guss Luse and Loyd Luse helped Jack Luse celebrate his 78th birthday Sunday. Pearl Hiner and Jesse Hiner called on Clyde Gladfelder Sunday evening. Coy Luse family spent Monday evening at Willie McDanes home. Mrs. Lyndon McDanel and daughter visited at Jack Luse home Monday evening.
