Hicks Home Grills to Ashes in Mo ravia

The residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Hicks in northwest Mo ravia burned to a mass of ashes about noon Tuesday. Fire detected on the north roof gained headway before discovery, but firemen saved the garage and nearby outbuildings. Household furnishings were removed from the downstairs and some from the upstairs. Loss partially covered by insurance.

Moravia firefighters were called to the G B Johnson residence on Milwaukee avenue Thursday at about 9 30 a blaze started by a defective flue and caused extensive roof damage before being brought under control.
