Mr and Mrs Stonehill of Indianapolis visit as Chautauqua guests of W A Von Canon. Many local residents attend services, visits, and gatherings. July plans noted. Wheat yields look strong as wheat was shocked this week and Hadley Bros specials announced for Saturday.
Dr B Thos Daggy retires from general medical practice in the town. Dr J O Allen, formerly of Metamora Indiana, now occupies Daggy's former office. The change marks a new physician serving the community effective immediately.
H. C. Scearce A. L. Wheeler and D. B. Johnson acquire the Bradley Brick Co stock and settle with creditors to continue operations on a paying basis. Jesse Bradley remains with the company as manager.
Mrs Alice L Mitchell wife of Jas V Mitchell died at their Martinsville home at 4 10 PM Friday June 26 1914 after a lingering cancer illness She was born in Mooresville December 19 1854 daughter of John H Thornburg pioneer residents of the area The obituary notes her intellect and social qualities and that funeral arrangements had not yet been made
Brown township Democrats held a meeting to elect delegates to the county convention. After initial delegates were declared elected, an opposing group met and chose a separate slate. The Democratic County Committee and Secretary Bryce discussed the split, with a Martinsville session anticipated Saturday to seek settlement.

Mrs Luther Jordan and baby leave for Brightwood Monday. Mrs Wesley Kellum on the sick list last week. Fairfield Sunday School held Children’s Day then Mrs Watson of Mooresville preached. Mr J and Mrs Frank Lacy and Jessie Moore visit Mr and Mrs S S Sutton Sunday. Mr Chas Tiner and family visit and Mrs Sam Denny Saturday. Mr Webster of Los Angeles Calif visiting sister Mrs Leslie Parsons left for Cloverland Monday. Bowman of Franklin visited sister Mrs Miles Newby Monday. Mrs Kendall visited friends at Pecksburn last week.
