The Noble Outcast Playat Valley Mills Performed by Local Teachers

The Noble Outcast staged by the Eastern Star Lodge at the school house drew a good local audience. Teachers from Valley Mills acted well with Katharine Friesner Dorval Jackson providing strong music and Erna Lyon reciting readings. Proceeds benefited the Masonic Home in Franklin.

Purdue University offers a Food Emergency course the week of June 18 23 focusing on canning food preservation economical use of foods planning inexpensive diets and cooking methods. On June 21 and 22 Purdue will stage a Food Conservation course conference for agricultural and domestic science teachers. Z M Smith and J G Collicott will speak Thursday while O H Benson demonstrates canning and drying. Friday features L R Romine on Visual Instruction and G I Christie on Vocational Agricultural teachers and the County agent. Benson continues demonstrations.

The Indiana Public Service Commission postpones a Thursday meeting on the Mooresville Public Service Co. petition to raise rates. Officials say they will reschedule as soon as possible due to lack of time.

Farm Sold Near Wilbur To Indianapolis Buyer

Charles Britton sold his 80 acre farm near Wilbur and all stock and tools to George Stewart of Indianapolis for immediate possession. EB. B. Shortridge arranged the deal. Stewart, who has sold a Montana sheep ranch, plans to acquire more land near Wilbur and expand sheep raising.

They were favorably impressed with the agricultural and domestic science departments and said the work is the best of its kind they had seen on their trip.

Women urged to aid French relief from Mooresville

The Mooresville community is called to support French Relief Work and the organization of French Wounded. Women are asked to sew bed jackets and pajama suits, with free material sent for use. Two sewing circles meet Thursdays at O. P. Macy’s and Miss Scott’s, encouraging broader town participation in the war aid effort.
