Death of Howard Berkey in Lincoln Nebraska
Telegram from Roach reports the death of Howard Berkey at his Lincoln home. Born August 4 1846 near Monticello he was the oldest child of Michael and Margaret Berkey. A Civil War veteran he enlisted January 1863 in Company G Indiana Regiment and served to war's end. Survived by two sons one in Panama and one in California. he often visited this city which he called home.

Brockway of Brookton was sentenced to two to twenty one years in Michigan City State Prison after a Tippecanoe Circuit Court conviction for manslaughter in his wife Bathier Boreman Brockway’s death in October 1919. He can appeal to the Indiana Supreme Court and remains free on bond during the appeal. The physician, 34, previously practiced in Lafayette and Brookston with family ties and earlier controversy preceding his marriage.
