Two Monticello area crashes injure two children
On a Friday afternoon in Monticello area two accidents occurred. Donna Nehl aged twelve and Lin da Nehl eight sustained minor injuries from a one car rollover on a gravel road two miles northeast of Monticello. Their brother Thomas Joseph Nehl sixteen drove the 1961 Oldsmobile. Later a two car crash eight miles southeast of Monticello caused no serious injuries. Irene Catherine Dirks thirty seven and Maxine Francis Folkers fifty two were the drivers of a 1964 Plymouth and a 1957 Ford respectively. The Plymouth damaged its front end and the Ford its right rear fender. The cause cited was tallcorn obstructing view at the intersection. Highway Patrolman Kenneth Carter investigated.

Car Leaves Road Injuring One Near Monticello
A one car accident Saturday at 11 45 p m left Burel Rupe 20 Anamosa with a concussion bruises and abrasions after the 1959 Ford driven by Howard Fleming 18 Anamosa ran off a gravel road two miles north of Monticello and rolled into a ditch. The car was towed to Langworthy and Fleming and Wilbur Tallman 17 Morley were not injured. The crash remains under investigation by Deputy Sheriff Arnold Latuska.

Driver charged after collision in Monticello
Susan L Aitchison 16 of Cascade was charged with failure to yield at a stop sign after a two car crash at 10 am Tuesday at South Main and East Washington Monticello. She drove a 1961 Chevrolet and struck John Thomas Supple 73 Monticello in a 1952 Studebaker heading south. Damages were about 100 dollars each with no injuries. Police Chief Adrian Wilken investigated.

John Vacek 16 suffered facial and arm lacerations with 30 stitches Beth Cadwell 14 internal injuries David House 16 facial and knee scratches Maurean Mulvihill 15 leg and arm bruises and hand scratches Mulvihill moved to Mercy hospital Cedar Rapids Vacek drove a 1961 Corvair east toward a T intersection lost control car rolled into east ditch through a fence landed by a cornfield owned by Harlan Schumaker car totaled deputies report charges pending.

Five Civil Actions Filed in Jones County Court
Six new civil cases were filed in Jones County District Court led by Citizens Savings Bank Anamosa against Engwerth and Engel J Willms Amber. A mortgage and note for 20000 were involved with multiple defendants listed. The bank seeks a declaratory judgment and equitable lien. One criminal action was filed and an account suit by Home Gas Co. Also writs of habeas corpus were issued and later annulled for several inmates.
