Monticello Council approves transfers and street work plans
The Monticello Iowa council approved moving 13 000 from liquor profits to reduce overdrafts with 5 000 to street fund 5 000 to public safety and 3 000 to utilities. They also shifted 5 406 20 from the sewer rental fund to the sewer construction fund and set street work with Tri State Paving Co beginning curb and gutter repair on Second and South Cedar streets and road resurfacing. Small changes to building permit fees and water rates were discussed along with litter and sidewalk repairs.

Misses T car crashes into hog lot in Wyoming area
A Wyoming man Dennis Lynn Snyder 22 escaped serious injury when he missed a highway intersection near Wyoming trav from highway 38 onto highway 64 five miles west of town. His car a 1969 Rebel 4 door sedan total loss after smashing through a field and striking a wall on Donald Starr farm. Damage to a fence estimated at 150 dollars. The 3 a.m. crash was not reported until later.

Car Collision on Amber Road Near Monticello
A two car crash occurred at 9 a.m. Sunday in front of the Lloyd Welter home on Amber road south of Monticello. John Bunting 54 of Monticello drove a 1960 Ford north and Roger Digman 26 of Monticello drove a 1960 Dodge south. Digman was charged with driving left of center. Vehicle damage totaled about 250 dollars per car. Sheriff Ralph Albaugh investigated.
