Monticello residents are urged to join a walking blood bank program at John McDonald Hospital. Volunteers aged 18 to 60 in good health may consent to blood typing for a donor registry. Signing up does not obligate donation, but could speed transfusions for patients including friends or family.
A state poll shows only five percent of farmers oppose any hunting on their land while seventy six percent permit hunting but require asking first. The piece urges courteous permission, notes land ownership gives farmers control, and asserts hunting depends on respecting the landowner. The regional fall workshop and meeting of the Evangelical and Reformed Church was held at Wheatland on Wednesday Oct 19. Monticello delegates included Rev. John Baumann and Mrs Alma Black Mrs Mayme Allamand Mrs Lena Steiner Mrs Clifford Arduser and Mrs Robert Appleby.
