M Lorezen of Wyoming Iowa reports buying 1000 pounds of Standard Food and says cattle showed strong appetite without scouring or loss of feed, detailing excellent results and plans to continue use. He also notes purchasing 1000 pounds of T. S. Simpson.
Onion Iowa November 27 1894 C C Overly testifies that three years of feeding Standard Food cured sore mouth and scour ing in a herd of cattle. After six days the cattle stopped scouring and ate well. he praises cheaper better digestion and plans to feed more Simpson Bros supply purchased today credited to Overly.
A farm letter from Tirron Indiana dated July 28 1885 extols Standard Food noting extensive use on pigs cattle hogs and chickens. It claims health benefits including worm expulsion appetite stimulation digestion and improved milk and condition with counts of animals fed and outcomes across multiple groups.
In Iowa and Illinois letters from farmers tout Standard Food, reporting steer and hog gains of about three pounds per day. J. M. Terpie and Mose Bunker describe buying, feeding, and marketing operations with praises and promised discounts.
In Monticello Louisiana a farmer recounts buying 500 pounds of W. T. Will last July after pigs sickened. After feeding the product only one died and the pigs recovered. He notes worms appeared after feeding and that appetite improved. He believes earlier use would have saved more than the food’s cost.
A promotional text argues for Standard Food to raise pigs for profit, detailing a six month feeding plan and costs. It claims benefits like faster fattening, disease resistance, worm expulsion, and lower costs versus oil meal, urging readers to judge by facts and trial results.
Twenty steers fed for twenty days use 3600 lbs. at 4 lbs per day, costing 36.00. Oil meal mix costs 63.00 for twenty days at 31 percent lbs per ton 3 percent daily. Using Standard Food saves 27.00 per car and improves digestion appetite and finish, with cattle finishing better and hogs benefiting. Five profit avenues are noted for Standard Food use.
A historical tally lists 63 men who bought from 500 to 2,400 pounds in the last year across Amana, Tipton, Cedar, and surrounding counties. Names include Nebergall Bros Tipton. Josiah Richards Cedar Blatts. Dodd & A. Pitts Monticello. Geo. Berger Scotch Grove. Noble Wilcox Baldwin. W. W. Wilson Lisbon. Kirkpatrick Lisbon. and others with towns such as Onslow Onslow Linn Cedar Rapids and Maquokefa.
Fritz Hur reports buying 50 pounds of Standard Food last October for his pigs and seeing a better appetite and faster fattening. He later purchased 500 pounds more in July, noting it keeps pigs free from worms and is superior to oil meal.
A farmer from Monoricei.o Indiana notes on October 4, 1895 that feeding Standard Food to through-bred hogs increased their appetite after buying 500 pounds from V. F. Willin in August.
J M Horracre testifies that since October 1894 he bought 75 pounds then 800 pounds of Standard Food and has fed it to sheep and all stock on his Monticreto farm. He is well satisfied and says it pays to feed it as represented, recommending it to farmers.
A. L. Berlin of Monoscello Illinois recalls purchasing Standard Food in 1894 and 1895 for hogs horses and poultry. He reports better digestion faster recovery from worm issues and no losses. He recommends the product to neighbors noting strong summer performance and positive results across stock types.
A. P. Fullmrister of Ely Ia reports a 82 day feeding test with 18 hogs split into two lots. Lot 1 without Standard Food gained 320 pounds while Lot 2 fed Standard Food gained 400 pounds. Net profit per lot calculated with market prices.
Center Junction Iowa November 28 94 robert livingston reports buying 50 pounds of Stand ard Food to feed shoats with coughing. after 12 to 15 days no coughing noted and worms observed around the yard. he calls it a wonderful appetizer and worm expeller and plans to buy 125 pounds more.
Langworthy Iowa Sept 21 1895 A farmer writes that feeding 50 pounds weekly to milk cows during winter is profitable and would be continued He bought 150 pounds in Oct 1894 and 200 pounds more in July 1895 and recommends W T Will standard food to all farmers as a paying investment
A stream of farmers from Monticello to Belleville report improved appetite and growth in hogs, pigs, and other stock after using Standard Food. Letters cite profits, reduced worm issues, and better coats and health, with multiple buy dates in 1895 and endorsements from local sales staff and agents.
