4-H Leader Awards Honor 4-H Leaders and Alumni
Jaymee Glenn Olin and David Hodgden and others from Oxford Jct received honorable mention. Alumni awards went to retiring members Harlan Helgens Monticello and Craig Irons Clarence. Various 5 and 10 year Clover awards were given to leaders and committees across multiple clubs. Attendance awards were presented to 19 club leaders with Varlyn Fink as emcee.

Oxford 4 H Week Open House At Steffens Farm Supply
In observance of National 4 H Week the Oxford Livewires will host an open house at Steffens Farm Supply on Saturday Oct 9 starting at 9 a.m. The event invites all, with dog showing at 9 30 steer fitting at 10 dog judging and weight guessing at 10 30 and contest results at 11 a.m. Coffee and cookies will be served and attendees learn about 4 H activities from local clubs and leaders.

Monticello Faces Severe Drought as Rainfall Lags
Monticello water department reports that only 18.60 inches of rain have fallen by this point in the year, far below the 37.41 inch 1973 normal and well short of last year’s totals.
