John Gorman sold 200 acres east of town to E A Vandal of San Joaquin Illinois for 117 50 per acre. Gierman’s land rose to 75 per acre eleven years ago and gained 8500 dollars plus net earnings.

Bids for medical attendance of the poor in Jones County towns and townships for the year starting November 15 1908 must be received by noon November 1 1908 at the auditor's office Anamosa Iowa. Bids to be sealed and addressed to the Board of Supervisors. each township bid to cover all poor including jailed and county house residents. The Board may reject any or all bids.
