Republican County Keeps Seat as Rev George Woodall Dies
The Rev George Woodall pastor of Metro Monticello died at his Oakfarm home after a heart attack on October 30. Funeral services were held November 1 conducted by a district superintendent of the Methodist church. He is buried at Golden Gate National Cemetery with a U S Army military interment. He served as army chaplain in World War I and had a long Methodist career in Iowa towns including Dumont Decorah Grundy Center West Branch St Pauls Waterloo and Ulster. He retired from the Monticello charge in 1941 and later worked as YMCA secretary in Oakland until his death. His wife and daughter Katherine of Boston survived. Mrs Woodall resides in Oakland.

Tobe Husmann a longtime Jones county resident died suddenly on Thursday Oct 31 in Galesburg Illinois after a heart attack while on a bus. His body returned to Rockford where funeral services were held Saturday Nov 2 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial followed in a Rockford cemetery. He was born Jan 7 1868 and came to America at age three with Harm G Husmann and Katrine Wilkens Husmann. they settled in Wayne Township.
