Five in Area to Graduate at Dubuque University

Candidates for degrees to be awarded by the University of Dubuque on June 3 include Donald Hunter from Monticello Berniece Thompson from Hopkinton Anita Klosterboer from Mariello and Richard Purcell and Charles Sinkey from Anamosa Baccalaureate services are set for May 29 at Westminster Presbyterian Church starting 430 p.m. Commencement is scheduled for 2 p.m. on June 3 on the campus quadrangle Proceedings also note athletic awards, senior class picnic and a Thursday reception by President Couchman and wife for the liberal arts college and seminary graduates. A meeting of the University Alumni Association will follow the commencement luncheon next week.

Melvin Pruess of Olin a Jones county farmer visited the Chicago stock yards last week with 33 hogs averaging 236 pounds each. He sold the lot at 18.75 dollars per hundredweight, the top price for hogs of that weight and quality.
