A May 26 special school election in Wyoming approved bonds not to exceed 30000 for a new school. Total 375 votes 112 in favor. 28 of 178 men voted yes while 135 of 198 women voted yes with 5 ballots tossed. Post election notes include a Memorial Sunday sermon, local fatalities, and upcoming commencements.
Castle Grove notes a narrow-road accident delaying a Ford, previews a big primary election with senator governor and lieutenant governor contests, and reports on autos, medical updates, rain with lightning and hail. Readers hear of courthouse news, church observances, and visits by residents to Monticello and Anamosa.
Burl Conley was killed last Friday at Hale township while guiding a grubbing machine horse when a broken single tree swept him in the stomach. He died almost instantly. Funeral from South Mineral church, buried beside brother Earl killed by cars last December. He leaves wife and son, separated for some time, and a family including father and several siblings. The son may find a home with Roy Overley and Mr. and Mrs. Overley. Matt Noyes was here recently.

Mr A M Billingsley district superintendent of the Dubuque district will preach in the M K church at 2 30 Sunday afternoon. All are invited to attend these services. Mr and Mrs Vernon Slauson spent Wednesday afternoon in Hopkinton. Several residents, including Arduser Stevenson Pierce Bohlken and Ella, were seen in Monticello and Hopkinton during the week.

Dr J A Marvin aged 78 died May 8 in Amber locality and was the son of A H Marvin. He lived near Monticello fifty years ago and spent forty years as a lecturer and writer on Spiritualism. Mrs Péter Robertson was mentioned in the notice.
A Washington dispatch reports the senate judiciary committee ordered a favorable report on E R Moore for U S marshal of the northern district of Iowa. The committee's action follows months of consideration amid earlier opposition and administration pressure to secure Moore's confirmation.
