Buck Creek Dinner Guests and Canceled Band Concert

New Band Parents elect officers and plan summer Drum Major Camp
Kathy Weseman and Neil Wood head a list of officers for the band parents club with Leo Ahrendsen co chairmen and Robert Timmons vice chair. They approve funding for Charles Rutenbeck to attend an Indiana Drum Major Camp August 1 to 6 and donate $100 to Judy Story and Mary Zimmerman. They buy a trophy plaque for top ratings, continue Lyre letters for sophomores, and preserve the outstanding senior musician award. A July 4 refreshment stand aids fund raising for new uniforms. summer band lessons run June 7 to 9 pm at Olin school with six lessons priced at $5. Concerts begin June 16 Wednesdays at 8 pm.

Top Poppy Day Salesmen Earn Prizes in Monticello
Twenty three children, mostly Cub Scouts, sold 1500 poppies in Monticello on Poppy Day. David Warner led with 186 sold, Colin Husman followed with 150, and Steve Brokens with 133. Each seller received a penny per poppy.
