Four area schools release dates for graduation week events. Maquoketa Valley plans tonight’s ceremony. Monticello Community on May 28. Midland on May 29. Sacred Heart on May 30. Oxford Jct held May 21. Olin Consolidated on May 16 with speakers Bernie Saggan and Dr. Eugene E Garbee. The Monticello High program starts at 8 p.m. with the concert band led by Ray Stumbaugh.

344 Seniors Set to Graduate in Express Area
The Express area will graduate 344 seniors this year from Monticello Sacred Heart Maquoketa Valley and other districts. Monticello and Sacred Heart hold commencements May 28 30 and 31 with baccalaureates May 25 at 8 a.m. The Midland of Wyoming and Maquoketa Valley ceremonies follow May 29 and May 22 respectively with addresses by university leaders and student speakers.

Monticello council meets in special session on city projects
The Monticello city council held a special session to discuss sewer leak surveys for a Federal grant, street repairs on South Cedar, a new 30 by 5 foot foot bridge plan, building permits, radio police gear, parking fees for doctors, and extending no parking on North Cedar Street. The May airport board minutes were read with runway tree removal, lighting protection, and taxiway extension offers.
