Paul Hearn and Lester Monk of the Monticello fire department spoke at the Scotch Grove Farm Bureau May meeting in Onslow Community hall. County Purchases Of Savings Bonds Ahead Of Average

Jones county leads Iowa in early 1955 savings bonds sales with January to April purchases of series E and H totaling 659,831 dollars, reaching 45 percent of the state quota. Anamosa’s John W. McNamara, county chairman, says Iowa sales since 1946 are at 42 percent of average.
