Winter took first in team scoring and field events see note for individual winners and relay squads.
Sophomore history projects impressed with diverse models and maps. David Hamilton built an Albatros DV plane. Helen Gerdes modeled an early Bell phone. Randall Ganf ield recreated Gutenburg's printing press. Don Zimmerman crafted a McCormick reaper.
Monti High lists seniors with varied talents in music, theater, sports and clubs. Audrey Podhasket Ruth Pinkerton Marilee Mattitessen Charles Kreer Jeannie Kaplan Betty Jean Aday Jeannie Kaplan Iona Harms Elaine Ahlrichs Elverna Wners Ruth Hint and others share their activities and post graduation aims.
The Delta Sigma Delta Chapter held its annual spring initiation banquet at the Monty Cafe tea room last Thursday evening at 6 30. Irma Schoon Claire Shannon and Max Schrader were initiated. Guest speaker Mr Donald Eells spoke on A Better World.
Sophomore recruits were entertained last Thursday May 10 by FFA members at the Norman Training court. The meeting included games and storytelling with refreshments served afterward.
Freshman homemaking classes planned prepared and served a luncheon to faculty members marking their first full meal service of this kind.
A complimentary copy of the Arrow yearbook is received from Waukon High School in exchange for sending a Monti Eye yearbook in return. The exchange indicates a reciprocal memorabilia gesture between the two schools.
Allan Lang don Martin presents Silver Through a three act comedy drama to be staged tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium with a matinee Friday afternoon for students. The cast lists many students and faculty, with Ruth Pinkerton chairing the props committee and Mrs Lexus Creenlay directing Smiling Through. Admission is 30 cents for children and 45 cents for adults.
