Local and Social Notices From Delaware County Gatherings

Delaware County units of the American Legion Auxiliary met at the Manchester Legion hall with District president Mrs. Robert Leemann as guest speaker. Kensington klub members toured Northeast Iowa visiting Spillville and Decorah. Airman 3/C Andrew Peterson left Hopkinton for overseas duty in Spain. Lutherans and Presbyterians held services and meetings in Dubuque and Waukon. Several hospital visits and family gatherings are noted, along with the Tripoli funeral for Wm Krueger and related attendance from Hopkinton and Monticello communities.

Leonard Martins Buy and Move Into Hutton Property

The Leonard Martin family co-owners of the Colonial cafe have purchased and moved into the Mrs. S. G. Hutton property with plans for extensive remodeling. District Library Convention attendees included Mrs. C R Smith, Mrs. Margery Sherrill and Mrs. Ralph Orth at Tipton. The Bahnsens welcomed a daughter born April 26. Brad Erickson, son of the Ericksons, and Albert Boots and Mike Millsap are patients at St Lukes in Cedar. Legion Auxiliary met with 13 members present and the song of the month was sung by Mrs John Henderson.
