Rural Pupils Take Exami in Rural Areas for High School Entry
Eighth grade students from Jones county took examinations to qualify for high school enrollment at the courthouse in Anamosa and the Monticello schoolhouse under County Superintendent Joseph Beave and Deputy Margaret Carmichael. Examinations in Anamosa covered several rural and town students, with Beavo noting the test as an experiment to compare rural and town students. Certificates of promotion to high school will be awarded to rural students whose papers meet standards, while results do not affect town students' admission.
