Carol Stadtmueller, a sixth grade Castle Grove rural schools student, won eighth place in the conservation essay contest held in Anamosa on April 22. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Stadtmueller and earned a one dollar prize. Teacher Miss Ella Rickels supervised the school. prizes were awarded by the Anamosa chapter of the Izaak Walton League.
