Advertisements praise Dr King’s New Discovery for consumption pneumonia and coughs. A Taladega Springs Alabama man credits one bottle with relief and cure. Also promotes Buckjen’s Arnica Salve for wounds burns and eye injuries at 20 cents.
Advert says statistics show high death rates from appendicitis and peritonitis and touts Dr. King’s New Life pills as a universal remedy. M Flannery of 14 Custom House Place Chicago endorses them for constipation and biliousness. Sold at O H Soetje’s drugstore.
Nickel Plate advertises through vestibuled sleeping cars in both directions between Chicago and major East Coast points including Boston and New York. Train No 2 departs Chicago at 10 35 am for Boston and New York with connections via West Shore and Lackawanna roads. Train No 4 leaves Chicago at 2 30 pm for Buffalo and intermediate points. Train No 6 departs Chicago at 9 15 am for Ft Wayne Cleveland Erie Buffalo New York and other stops arriving in New York City the next morning. Rates stated as the lowest.
