The article describes a Compugraphic computer containing over 60 miniature circuits. Each circuit can diagnose its own problem and determine corrective action, effectively diagnosing itself and prescribing its own repair.
The Express and Com pugraphic announce a four day installation of Compugraphic CG 2961 photocomposition with computer input and bi-directional tape reader. The system will set news using computer produced type and a CG 7200 for display type later this summer.
The Monticello Express now uses a computer driven system fed by perforated tape and a photo unit reader to create stories. The machine justifies margins erases errors and hyphenates words. It produces faster higher quality type at lower cost and the paper promotes subscriptions to stay ahead.
Montiello police report two minor accidents from last week. A 1959 Chevrolet driven by Danica L Meier had brakes fail causing a sign at South Main and East Washington to be knocked over. the car suffered no damage. A 1968 Buick driven by Deloris Jean Tjaden struck a tractor and leaders at Monticello Implement causing about 250 dollars in damage to the Buick.
