Canton Farmer Catches Rattlesnakes For College
Glenn E Meader a tenant farmer near Canton has captured eleven rattlesnakes alive in two years. His latest haul on May 20 included a seven rattle, nine rattle and an 11 rattle snake. He uses a forked stick and a noose to secure the snakes and then passes them to a Coe College biologist for laboratory study.

Mrs. Meader says the snakes and a hoot owl were given to the biologist without compensation, expressing relief at getting rid of the reptiles and bird.
