Dawson Waverly. Fifth district caucus nominating Ion Welcome Mowrey of Tama county for presidential elector by acclamation. No other candidates were named.
The Chicago Record ridicules the Bryan nomination as light and juvenile warning that the great white northwest will mock the process. It portrays Bryan as sincere yet gibberish prone and mocks convention timetables and rival figures while contrasting provincial leadership with northern assertiveness.
