Jones County Supervisors Set 1971 Legal Holidays and Actions
In its last meeting of 1970 the Jones county board set nine full day and three half day legal holidays for 1971. Full days include New Year, Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays, Memorial and Independence Days, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. half days cover Aug 12-13 for the Jones county fair and Dec 24 afternoons. The board also approved reports, hired a welfare clerk, increased county home fees, suspended 1970 tax payable for Eva L Fisher property, and swore in re elected county officials. New chairman Louie Hanken was named. Funding and depository arrangements were set with local banks and salaries and funds allocations adjusted.
