A wide roundup reports factory fire losses in Virginia and portends across states. It notes wheat stocks in Minnesota and Dakota, a fatal Wheeling blast, drownings at Hillsvale, a Logan tomb transfer, suicides in Ohio and Georgia, bank failures in Nebraska, riots in Mississippi, and weather and crime incidents nationwide.
On the night of the 29th ult regulators entered Ozark jail and offered liberty to four Bald Knobbers. Two accepted along with five train robbers Mrs Turner and child a daughter of George Cloyd three Brooks brothers and another unnamed man all colored.
