Wyoming The Presbyterian Industrial society met January twenty six at Mrs. Robert Alden home with Mrs. Fred Fritz and Mrs. Grace Hanna as assisting hostesses. Rev. George Traden installed officers led by President Mrs. Leon Coleman and Secretary Mrs. Albert Wallace. Librarian and mission groups named with several secretaries and church members to lead education, stewardship, and evangelism activities for the year.

Since 1910 the organization has enriched the lives of more than 22 750 000 boys and adults while counting 2 700 000 boys and 960 000 adults in scalable ranks. Dr. Arthur A. Schuck notes Scouting trains boys for leadership through strong character citizenship and fitness in cooperation with home school church and communities. The federal charter of 1916 defines Scouting to develop self reliance patriotism and virtues in all units across the nation.
A commentary urges improved public understanding of epilepsy and condemns discrimination. It notes 800000 Americans affected, advances in diagnosis and anticonvulsant drugs, and states about 80 percent of seizures can be controlled with proper medical and social care.
The Wayne Master Farmers 4-H club topped this year's boys 4-H membership contest in Anamosa. Wayne enrolled 12 new members by January 1 and added another since, making it the county’s largest with 37 members. Washington Tigers finished a close second with 11 new members.
Jones county 4 H clubs plan February and March meetings to study controlling external parasites such as cattle grubs hog mangos and flies. Jerry Parsons notes the program helps boys apply project skills and aid their fathers, with four gold filled medals awarded at next fall’s award banquet for top work.
