Steers Loose On Highway Cause Two Crashes East Of Anamosa
A load of Black Angus steers roaming Highway 151 two miles east of Anamosa caused a double crash Monday night. A milk truck rammed steers, overturned, and a following car hit another steer. Three steers were killed. no major injuries reported. Damages totaled about $27,000 to the truck and $500 to the Burdick car. A second collision at the same spot involved a 1962 Valiant and a 1968 Ford pickup with minor damage totals.

Car runs off highway 64 into ditch near Anamosa
A 1957 Chevrolet driven by 17 year old Roger John Kremer of Cedar Rapids lost control on a curve on Highway 64 east of Anamosa at 12 20 pm Sunday. The car struck the south ditch, broke a Northwestern Bell pole, and suffered damage estimated at 125 dollars with no injuries. Patrolman Toner and Anamosa police investigated.

Truck overturns injures Cedar Rapids driver on rural road
Harold J. Moore Jr., 38, suffered a left ear laceration and contusions when his 1953 International five ton truck owned by Peter Pan Bakers, Inc. rolled over after hitting a soft spot on a new road bed near Olin. The vehicle, valued at 300 dollars, was a total loss. no charges were filed. Highway Patrolman Thomas Toner investigated.

Vehicle crashes into Wyoming drive-in wall injuring building
Charles Winter 61 of Wadena was charged with failure to have his vehicle under control after his 1968 Buick crossed Highway 64 and Highway 136 at the Wyoming junction and slammed into the northeast corner of Velda's Drive-In. Damage to the building was considerable and the car front end about $500. Deputy Sheriff John Wright investigated in foggy conditions.

Stephen Hoffman, 21, of Monticello, was charged with failure to have his car under control after a 1:15 a.m. Saturday accident on county road A west of Monticello. He crossed a driveway, struck a mailbox, and went down an embankment. the car rolled onto its left side but Hoffman escaped injury. Highway Patrolman Kenneth Carter and Deputy Sheriff John Wright investigated.

Car Collision Leads to Charge in Monticello Intersection
Jane Anne Price aged 20 of Monticello was charged with failure to yield after a two car crash at 5 14 p m Thursday at Main and First. She drove a 1965 Chevrolet northbound and tried a west turn into First, hitting Ralph Howard Eden 51 of Muscatine in a 1967 Chevrolet. Damages were $600 to Eden and $250 to Price. Chief Adrian Wilken investigated with no injuries reported.

One Car Accident Near Anamosa On Old Highway 151
A single vehicle crash reported at 3 15 a m Sunday near Anamosa on old highway 151 sent Leo R Nissen 31 of Anamosa to Anamosa Community hospital for a chin laceration. His 1955 Studebaker sustained about 200 in front end damage and no charges were filed. Deputy Sheriff John Wright.

In Jones County district court three civil suits were filed this week with two others proceeding. Clayton and Florence Hollings head sued Guy O Davis and Wilma F Davis on a deed and lease dispute about property southeast of Hale and the amount due on contracts through 1967. Everett Lee Carpenter and Earnest L Eutsminger filed writs of habeas corpus as inmates. A ruling favored Lindhorst on a special appearance in David Hughes versus Ralph W Lindhorst, with venue issues noted. The December 12 property damage suit by Monticello State Bank against John Bud Coyle was moved to the January February term.
