Hearing and Budget Determination by Jones County Board
On August 2 1939 the Jones County Iowa board met for a hearing on the budget estimate. Notice published July 20 1939 in Anamosa Journal Anamosa Eureka and Monticello Express. They heard taxpayers with no objections and set the final estimate total at 569 807 dollars with 360 000 to be raised by taxation. The minutes also record bids for coal at the county home and courthouse and list numerous disbursements and payees including H Eichhorn Fidlar Chambers and Monticello Express.
