Monticello graduate Ron Stahlberg to study ministry at Wartburg

Ronald Stahlberg, former Express photographer, will attend Wartburg College in Waverly for ministry studies. He will also work as a photographer and dark room man for Waverly newspapers. A campus leader, he earned multiple scholarships and served as Camera Club president. The column notes his likely future in church outreach with photographic ministry.

Dairy Herd Improvement No 2 reports July milking figures

Verlin Conley, supervisor for Dairy Herd Improvement Association No 2 of Jones County, reports July totals with 358 cows in milk and 43 dry, average 812 pounds milk and 29.45 butterfat. Top ten herds include Lurkens Martelle 30,720 pounds milk and 44.30 fat, Wahl Monticello 23,740 milk at 37.20 fat, and Sievers Martelle 8,890 milk at 35.0 fat, among others.

Scotch Grove Club Picnic At Monticello Fairgrounds

The Scotch Grove community holds a picnic at the Monticello fairgrounds as Oak Drive club maintains summer meetings and a August picnic. Rev. Fair to field 35 men police force at county fair

Chauncey Dirks, a Gen eral Motors Institute student in Flint Michigan, returns Tuesday for a three week vacation with his parents Mr and Mrs H MartIn Dirks. Mrs Richard Andreesen of Chicago visits her parents Mr and Mrs Albers as do Paul Hinrichs and Jon Hasmann. Ray Hinrichs plans to travel from Woodland California to Jones County fair. Sunday visits include Clarence Schmidt family and J H Hinrichs. John Helms returns home from two months with Eddie Heims in Worthington.
