Preserving Apples by Sulphur Fumes at Town State College

Home economics experts at Town State College recommend preserving apples by sulfur fumigation. Sound apples are placed in a basket inside a barrel with hooks, sulfur is burned under the barrel, and after eight to ten hours the fruit is packed in earthen jars for storage.
