The 18th national encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Minneapolis featured a grand welcome with city banners and arches. Camp Beath at the fairgrounds housed 830 wall tents with ample straw, electric lighting, and W C T U volunteers providing cold water to veterans as organizers explored funding through games of chance.
A market gardener reports his cow yields more butter every other week when two hired men alternate milking. He tests and finds no milk left after milking. A Scotch caretaker explains the difference as different exclamations used by each milker. A Massachusetts club of unmarried girls vows to marry only temperate men.

Sold at 25 and 50 cents by all druggists. Also advertised is 51 Dr Jones Red Clover Tonic described as a cure for blood and digestive ailments priced at fifty cents at J H Bacher's.
An ad offers sale of a house on Flint Street Monticello Iowa with blacksmith and machine shop. shop may be sold with or without tools, with cisterns barns and city water. Also an inquiry for a large Main Street house by Henrick & Doxies. Plus a testimonial about Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy illustrating its use and availability.
