Great Jones County Fair adds new open exhibits classes
The 119th Great Jones County Fair expands open exhibits with new textiles classes and revised divisions. Flowers due Aug 10, general entries by Aug 9, design entries by Aug 12, and fruits and vegetables gain three new classes cauliflower muskmelon and watermelon. Specimen classes total 54 in flowers with new varieties and potted plant additions. Holiday themed arrangements include Be My Valentine and To St Pat among others.

Center Jcts Centennial draws thousands to two day celebration
Center Junction hosted a two day centennial with about 10 000 attendees. A Friday noon carnival opened the event at the town park followed by a 5 30 p m barbecue for around 1 500 people. Notables included Dr Max and Mambo from WMT TV and Daisy Chase crowned queen at 7 30 p m.

Great Jones County Fair Opens Two Weeks Early
The 119th Great Jones County Fair in Iowa starts next Tuesday and runs through Saturday. New this year is an exhibition livestock barn with a show ring and covered seating, hosting four 1971 car prizes tax and license paid. Cars include a Ford Pinto, Chevelle Sport Coupe, Dodge Charger, and Chrysler Newport, awarded Aug 11 to 14.
